Visiting Milwaukee and Madison

Wisconsin's state capital, Madison, has the moniker Lake City, as it was developed between the lakes of Monona and Mendota. Also called The City of Four Lakes, Madison is also near Lakes Waubesa and Kegonsa – the four lakes are formed by the Yahara River. Madison is an oasis in summer for water recreation and outdoor enthusiasts. The University of Wisconsin in Madison is one of the largest and most respected public universities in the US, adding to the high education rankings the city receives. Summer means the City of Madison Parks are filled with softball and soccer games and the Elver Park cross country ski trails are in the season for Disc Golf. It is time to get outside for summer fun.

Madison hosts the Ford Ironman September 12th, 2010. An amazing challenge consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run. Age groups from 18 to over 75 years old will be participating and earning your support and cheers. The run course is through downtown Madison where spectators can line the streets and Monona Terrace is the best viewing area for the swim. The Ironman Expo will be held at Monona Terrace from September 9th through the 13th.

There are three Best Western Hotels in Madison, ideal for participants, family, friends and visitors. Milwaukee hosts the 30th Annual Lakefront Marathon October 3rd, 2010. Events include the marathon, marathon relay and the marathon Kid's Run where kids run the last mile of a marathon distance run over time. The Lakefront Marathon Expo will be held at the MSOE Kern Center both Friday and Saturday. Milwaukee is home to Three Best Western Hotels, convenient for travelers to the marathon.

Sports fans, remember the Milwaukee Brewers regular season games are scheduled through September. Make a game the perfect summer outing downtown at Miller Park.
