Eight Foot Falls
Located just down the river from the Twelve Foot Falls, the easiest way to reach Eight Foot Falls is to walk through the park's campground to a short trail that leads to the falls. The Pike River tumbles over a boulder ridge into a wide, picturesque pool. The sound from Eight Foot Falls can be heard pleasantly in the background at that end of the campground, and is a wonderful "sedative" at the end of the day. Call 800-236-6681 for more information.

Eighteen Foot Falls
The best way to reach Eighteen Foot Falls is to go north on Twelve Foot Falls Road as you leave Twelve Foot Falls Park. Take the second sand road to the right and drive or walk about 1/2 mile to a small parking area. Follow the path to the beautiful Pike River and the awesome Eighteen Foot Falls. Four Foot Falls
Found just north of the bridge at Carney Rapids is a small dirt road to the east. Take this road (you can walk or drive) about 1/2 mile to a small grassy area where you can park. A short walk along a path to the south (right) takes you to the falls. Call 800-236-6681 for more information.

Long Slide Falls

Menominee River
Forming the eastern boundary of Marinette County, the Menominee separates Wisconsin from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The upper stretch offers fast water and difficult rapids. Many rapids and dams must be portaged. Portions of the upper river are extremely dangerous and should only be run by experts in decked boats. Peshtigo Fire Museum
The Great Peshtigo Fire of 1871 killed 1,200 people, IT was the worst forest fire in American history. The museum is open May 27 – October 8 and is open daily 9am – 4:30pm. Call 715-582-3244 for more information.

Peshtigo River
In northern Marinette County, the upper portion of the Peshtigo flows through the beautiful Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. It has some of the most difficult whitewater in the Midwest. The river above Caldron Falls Reservoir has long and difficult rapids that require a high degree of canoeing skill. Water levels should be medium high or above. Below Crivitz, the river slows and widens in sharp contrast. Reservoirs on the central river provide lake canoeing. Open year round. Call 715-732-7510 for more information.
