Civic Center Historic District
The Kenosha Civic Center Historic District was the culmination of the city reform movements of the early 20th century. The district contains fine examples of classical public architecture including the County Courthouse, post office and high school. Civil War Museum
OPENS SPRING 2008. Step back in time to discover how the Upper Midwest helped shape American history and the growth of our nation. Walk through the town square and experience family life back home as war broke out. Board a train bound for the front and hear the personal stories of soldiers, nurses, doctors, clergymen and participate in the Underground Railroad. Discover the material and human contributions to the Civil War by six Midwestern states. Dinosaur Discovery Museum
A free attraction featuring the resident Tyrannosaurus-rex who stands a menacing 40 feet over visitors along with his fellow dinosaurs. The Dinosaur Discovery museum showcases meat-eating theropods of the Mesozoic era and is the only museum of its kind to illustrate the link between met-eating dinosaurs and modern birds.

Durkee Mansion
This is the Kemper Center's primary facility, that began in 1861 as an upper class Kenosha residence (known as Durkee Mansion), and became Kemper Hall in 1871. Electric Streetcar System
From 1903-1932, Kenosha's primary downtown transportation was an electric streetcar system. The city has reinstalled a portion of that earlier streetcar line. Travel a two-mile loop that includes the METRA Train Station, the Kenosha Public Museum and Harbor Park. The depot is located at 8th Ave & 54th Street and operates year-round. Government Lighthouse: North Pier
Built in 1906 the lighthouse is 50 feet tall. No tours are offered and it is open year round. Call 262-654-5770 for more information.

Hawthorn Hollow Nature Sanctuary & Arboretum
A private nature sanctuary comprised of a 12-acre arboretum, 3 historic buildings and 2.5 miles of nature trails winding through the woods and prairies of the Pike River Valley. See warblers, herons, hawks, woodpeckers, and flycatchers. Kenosha History Center
The Kenosha History Center includes two museum galleries: The Yesteryear Gallery and the Rambler Legacy Gallery. The Yesteryear Gallery examines living in 19th Century Kenosha County. The Gallery includes a period general store display, an early urban commercial block (millinery store, barbershop & apothecary), an agricultural display and a railroad depot. The Rambler Legacy Gallery explores Kenosha in the 20th Century. The first exhibit commemorates the Rambler Centennial and will be up until the beginning of August 2002. Twelve cars representing the six major car-collecting hobbyist groups are on exhibit. Two special cars are also on exhibit including a 1902 Rambler that is on loan from the Museum of Science & Industry in Chicago. This is one of the first Ramblers produced in Kenosha. Also, the red 1962 Rambler American convertible from the NBC comedy series 3rd Rock From The Sun is on exhibit. Open Tuesday - Friday 10am - 4:30pm; Saturday 10am – 4pm; Sunday noon – 4pm. Library Park Historic District
The Library Park Historic District contains many individual outstanding examples of nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture. The park occupies land donated by Charles Durkee, a New Englander, and George Kimball, a Canadian. Durkee served as a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin from 1855-1861.
